Tungsten powder


Primary tungsten powder is a gray-black or dark gray metal powder, and crystalline tungsten powder is bright gray. Tungsten powder is the main raw material for processing powder metallurgy tungsten products and tungsten alloys. Pure tungsten powder can be made into processed materials such as wires, rods, tubes, plates, and products with certain shapes. Tungsten powder mixed with other metal powders can be made into various tungsten alloys, such as tungsten-molybdenum alloy, tungsten rhenium alloy, tungsten-copper alloy and high-density tungsten alloy.

Another important application of tungsten powder is to make tungsten carbide powder to prepare cemented carbide tools, such as turning tools, milling cutters, drill bits, and molds. Crystalline tungsten powder is mainly used for surface spraying, petroleum perforation, hard surface materials, high-temperature coatings, and high-temperature coatings for combustion chamber spraying.

Tungsten has different colors under different conditions. The appearance and color of dense tungsten are like steel; the coarse-grained tungsten powder in powdered tungsten is gray with obvious metallic luster; the medium-grained tungsten powder is gray; the fine-grained tungsten powder is dark Gray, while the ultrafine tungsten powder is black.
Among all non-ferrous metals, tungsten enjoys the title of "high temperature resistance champion". Its chemical properties are stable and its hardness is also high.
